"YOU'VE BEEN SHOE-ED"

MQU is plagued by a series of attacks, nothing deadly, but shoes are being taken right off our feet. Check if you have yours now! A mysterious shoe thief has been a myth to many but until now, a CCTV footage of this criminal act was caught right outside of our library. No one is safe from this thief but we must all remain patient, calm and protect what is ours.

Have you met the cast members? Comment down below and say hello!

Anastasiya - MQU field journalist

Daniel - Infamous Shoe Thief
Dean - Camera Man
Kevin - MQU Anchorman
Winnie - CCTV Victim #1
Wendy - Victim #2

We have been targeted by this mysterious shoe thief but we will not succumb to his evil doings. We would like to advice everyone to lace up and look after each other's shoes. Shoes play an important part in achieving comfort and self-identity.

Please check out the video down here below!

If you know who he is, report  him to CrimeStopperz at 1300-CRIME-STOPPERZ immediately to save a shoe!

The Team have all contributed into creating this video. The group initially began with a group discussion meeting with many various ideas from crazy to perfect. There has been the creation of dialogue, allocating the correct scenery, storyboard and resource to perfect the filming. Each member has participated in the video in their own little way from full screen time to little cameos.

We want to give special thanks to:

Wendy: The Combat

SPOTTED: ROC TERRITORY

Hey guys, wanna look tough without the teardrop tattoo or actually participating in the Cold War? Found this classic gem on the way to uni from the train station. Presenting... Marie! Not pronounced like merry, but meh-ree!

When you think Roc, you think school boots and black leather shoes, and you wouldn't be wrong. That is what the good people at Roc specialise in. School wear. But, luckily they've incorporated their ideals of comfort and durability into their 'casual' range. So, out come the Territory boots! These ones are in black outback, and I'm sure they also come in a range of darker hues. Of course, black ones would be the easiest to pair up with. Try and find an outfit these wouldn't match?! But I have to admit, I am bias, because I do have a pair as well. The exact same ones. I've had mine since around 2010, so perhaps they would be a little more worn out than these ones.

These boots are fairly comfortable, they've lasted me 9-hour shifts of running around like a maniac in the hustle and bustle of a city restaurant. The laces that climb up the lower half of your shin, once tight, gives off a slimmer look and elongates your legs. Which I found really flattering, especially because I have short legs!

I've completely forgotten about these shoes in my closet... Marie's inspired me to yank them out and lace them back up!

Until next time

Most recent release did any of you manage to grab a pair?

Hey guys as you may know on the 13th of May there was a massive release for all Flyknit Racer fans. The colourway called the multicolours were released and this makes it the third version. This colourway is fancy and a one of a kind because then knitted together the colour will always turn out unique.

The original version of this shoe came out on 2013 and was sold out instantly and the community wanted it back so Nike released version 2 of this colour in 2015 however it wasn't enough for the fans so now again this year they released it once more replicating the exact colours of the first version but this time the tongue of the shoe is grey instead of black so there is a difference between the shoes.

If you guys missed out and are wondering when the next color of Racers come out June 10 another re-release Racer colour will come out called the total orange so be ready to wait for the online drop if you are keen before they all sell out!

Class on Grass

How's it going everyone, back here with a specialty post again, and this time it'll be on my very first pair of boots. So pictured below are my blue-green Hypervenoms
What I love about these shoes is first the history that I've had with these boots, and also predominately the colour-way of these boots. Now I'm going to back peddle a little about staying simple with colours i.e. black or neutral colours, but you have to admit, these boots look FRESH!

Sometimes you need to stand out a little, but not too much... What I mean by this is that they will bring the audience's attention to you, but not so much that if you're the one wearing hot pink boots and you fail miserably, you won't be the huge standout because they can locate you by your boots. They bring some elegance to the field, they bring attention, but furthermore they're mine, so they bring memories.

Peace out
-Daniel

Dam Kevin back it again with the....

Hey there is Kevin, instead of doing my constant posts about the Flyknit Racers I decided to mix it up a bit and show you guys one of the favorite shoes. Its a very classic shoe that everyone already knows. Its the Vans, The vans are very comparable to the converse shoes in terms of popularity and style. They go with everything! I found these pairs in my cupboard not too long ago and they are deadstock (Brand new). These are extremely cheap but don't take it the wrong way the quality is still up there!

If you are looking for shoes that can go with everything and you can wear everyday I would definitely recommend these as the sneaker games does limit you from wearing a few types of outfits.

Class trumps all

Everyone will need a pair of dress shoes for the unavoidable occasions. There is nothing better than to look and feel stylish, classy and gain that extra confidence boost. We should feel comfortable and satisfied with how we dress.

Portland Shoes - Lincoln in Teak
I have not been prepared in the past such as unavoidable occasions such as job interviews. A job interview would require you to dress to impress. It is critical that you apply and think of what you wear before entering that interview room, since 'First impression matters'. Maybe you will decide to wear a suit or just a clean button up shirt and a nice tie but you can't wear your Nikes or Addidas. In some cases, this could potentially work but lets stick old school for this.

Dress shoes have been around for a long time and this is very much evident through history. The classy period of the early and mid 1900s involved the use of what we call 'formal' attire now. They are typically made in leather, very high quality and it will most definitely compliment your choice of suits. Although, colour of your shoes does play another aspect. In my opinion, brown and black are definitely interchangeable, classy and compliments all types. You have nothing to worry, there are so many variants and combinations out there.

Portland Shoes

I have purchased myself a dress shoe a while back in late December last year. This was for a Christmas Party and no, I unfortunately did not style up my shoe game during my job interview. Don't let your decision be based on what and how expensive your shoe is for your job interview but choose what would compliment and express who you are. How you dress will definitely help boost your chances and make you feel more comfortable. The shoe I got is from the brand 'Portland' - Lincoln in Teak. I am definitely pleased with this shoes as it complimented my grey suit. It is very comfortable, at first (I will explain later), with its nice soft insoles and very sturdy full leather material. The dark brown gradient from the front of the shoe to the laces is exquisitely satisfying as in different angles the shoe can be seen as black. It radiates the feeling of a 'double' agent.

The night was filled many laughter, dancing, socialising and pain. The shoe is great but I later felt a sudden pain right on my heel. I have recognised that the heel of the shoe is tougher than I thought which addresses its quality since it is made of tough leather. The quality did appeal to its sturdiness as it began to dig deeper on my heels. It could have been due to how I was walking or dancing that night or maybe the shoe was rather incompatible with me. Despite the pain, I managed to soldier through the night and forget about it.

I would most definitely recommend purchasing a dress shoe compatible for you. It is important to be ready for those unavoidable moments. It is an investment and why not make the most of it. Class trumps everything, Class > Swag. Also, I think ladies enjoys guys who dress up with class. Free tip for you males out there!

Remember to stay classy and dress to impress!

Wendy: Let Me Finish My Chicken Wrap

SPOTTED: COLD CHICKEN SCHNITZEL GRUB
And a pair of Air Max 2014s

How is everyone's Thursday? Mine's been groggy. I'm sick and I have assignments due... What a time to be alive, right? But guess what I spotted last night on campus... Chewing on a cold chicken schnitzel wrap with bits of lettuce and sauce all over his clothes...? The Air Max 2014s. In all black. What he ate really wasn't important, but it was hard to look pass the mess that engulfed his white hoodie. Who eats a wrap from both sides simultaneously??? I just don't understand. One end is opened up for you to start from. The other end is wrapped up to keep all the juices in. This guy was chewing at it from both ends.

Jesus Christ, he made me cringe. Oh, and his name was James, studying commerce, or was it finance? The mess on his clothes made it hard to concentrate on whatever he was saying...

So, enough about his eating etiquette. Back to the shoe. This version released in 2014 came in all different sorts of colour ways, from bright pinks transitioning to yellows, or light blues deepening to darker hues - as with any other Air Maxs. But, black is always a classic. He seemed to really like these shoes, and his wrap. Not wasting any time between conversing and eating, he finished the thing before I even got up to take a photo of the shoes...

That's a pretty bad photo. The oval may require a bit of a trim. The shoes in broad daylight are a solid black, except for the swoosh - which comes in a reflective silver. He says the cushion foam adds a bit of height, about 1-2cm. So technically, these would be perfect for me because I need all the extra height I can get. As for comfort... He gave me a neither-here-nor-there type of answer: "they're comfortable 'cos they give you a lot of support, like that time I legged it from my ex... But the bottom's are also really hard, so they're not for all day, I guess". Well, good job, James. That was a terrific answer, wonder why she's now your ex? Luckily, I've tried these shoes on before, and he's 50% on the ball. When I tried them on, they seemed to look and feel really chunky on me, and the soles were indeed very stiff. I would say, yes, these shoes are great for getting you to and from a short day of uni - and perhaps, avoiding your horrendous ex? But if you have work from 9am-5pm, maybe have a read of the Roche or Flyknit posts.

After the 20 minute photoshoot in the dark, I walked him over to the bin. He says he would rate these a 7/10, as with the entire Air Max range.

PS. So if any of you need a getaway shoe, these are perfect!
PSS. Here's a better photo of the shoe because unfortunately, I don't major in photography.

To croc or not to croc

Hey Bloggers!

Don't let the tittle fool you!!! I'm not going to be talking to you about the ultimate fashion suicide horrid croc's our uncle wears with socks. If you ever see me in those crocks, I give you permission to shoot me, please!
This blog is going to be about Lacoste, in fact my most favourite pair of casual sneakers to wear at Macquarie uni, the ones you’ll see me rocking around campus the most are Lacoste.

Lacoste Women’s Carnaby Evo 116.

A little behind the brand; Lacoste is a French company established in 1933 and has evolved far beyond the original image of being on the tennis courts. After the brand became famous for their revolutionary tennis shirt, they have expanded to now be selling high-end clothing, footwear, perfume, leather goods, watches, eyewear, and their most eminent polo shirts. Their clothing and shoes have now broadened to commonly be used by the followers of the athleisure trend – wearing clothing and shoes for casual fashion. Lacoste has especially become well-known for luxe casual footwear. The most recognised of all Lacoste is the little logo of the crocodile which was even reference in one of Biggie Smalls lyrics.

Personally, I own a few Lacoste items in my wardrobe and I would have to say it is one of my favourite brands, usually I am not an online shopper, but for Lacoste I did order the Lacoste Ziane Chunky White Leather shoes from America since I couldn’t find them in any store here in Sydney. Embarrassingly enough, I even asked the retailers call over to Melbourne stores to find out for me before I had found some luck online. But as those were starting to getting a little old, I recently updated my everyday uni shoe to the Carnaby Evo.

I must say the Carnaby Evo is a perfect shoe, a classic retro tennis silhouette from Lacoste. I match them up with jeans and a t-shirt for a casual look to uni, and the all-white with a touch of navy feels really stylish following the trend of a white sneaker. The only downfall I must admit is keeping them as white as they came out of the box, but the premium leather makes any mark rub off so easily. On a comfort level, they would be a 9/10 for me! I really love these shoes, and my next casual shoe, I will admit probably be Lacoste as well!

So in the end, I say croc it! They're awesome!

Blast from the past

What is going on MQ?! Now I have something a little different for you this time.....

I bring to you one of my favourite pairs of shoes ever, these pair are my own personal pair, they've been through thick and thin, lasted me a very long time, still in (fairly) good condition and are still comfortable as ever!

I bring to you....

The Nike Pegasus 28, these shoes have been through so much, I've had these shoes since 2010! They've been through mud, been on the top of Uluru, been to Asia, been egged upon, been through the outback, these shoes have been everywhere!

Now they make look a little bit run down, which will happen over the course of 6 years, but these shoes have held up better than any other shoe I own! I sport these to the gym almost every session, they're great for just casual walking, they're just great!

If you get the chance of getting new shoes particularly for physical activity, I know from my experience that Pegasus shoes will definitely be my go to in the future!

Peace out MQ!

Adidas Superstars

Hey guys,

As you may have read in one of my last posts,  I have been looking for the adidas superstars in black and white! Well today, I decided to shop around without planning to buy anything in specific.

I spotted the adidas superstars and originally they're about $120-130. However I purchased them for a lower price as I got the kids one at footlocker (perks of fitting into kids sizes). They are so cute! haha, so I got the kids one instead and there is no difference between that and the adult one. Of course I couldn't refuse so I purchased them straight away.

Anyway, here are some photos I took of them.

Super excited to wear them out, but not just yet!

- Winnie

Kevin's Flyknit Racer Collection!

Hey as you may of seen from my last post, I am in love with the Nike Flyknit racers. Here is a sneak of my current collection! Currently I have Oreo 2.0, Volts, Oreo 1.0, Orcas, and Original Greys!

There are over 30 different colourways for the Racers and my goal is to collect them all! However it will require a lot of dedication to find my size and money to afford them all. Each pair is roughly 220AUD retail however the resell value of each shoe can be up to 700AUD.

Nike will still always fly over Adidas!

This one is for the ladies

Hey Bloggers,

Today, I decided to interview my friend Bintu here at Macquarie Uni asking her a few questions on topic of shoes she was wearing today to really get to know our Macquarie student’s opinions and also giving me an idea for today’s blog!

Me: How are you today?
Bintu: Good

Me: What are you studying at Macquarie?
Bintu: B medical science

Me: Do you watch your fitness?
Bintu: Sometimes

Me: How much walking around would you say you do a day?
Bintu: A lot of walking with minimal target steps of 6000

Me: What shoes are you wearing today?
Bintu: Black Flats

Me: Why/Reasoning?
Bintu:  Comfort and style.

Me: On a scale of 1-10 comfort level of your shoe?
Bintu: 7

Me: What would you say is the most common type of shoe you see around Macquarie?
Bintu: Comfy shoes- mostly runners

Me: Would you be interested in reading our blog – Shoes of MQ?

Bintu: Yes send me the link

Me: And lastly, on the battle of Nike and Adidas, what side would you take?
Bintu: Nike

Apart from all of the sneakers we see on every second person walking around MQ, I thought I’d write about my girls's very common shoe seen around campus and the shoe every girl has at least one pair of in her shoe closet. The flats. Whether it be ballet, slipper, moccasin, loafer oxford or pointy-toe flats. We all need a good pair of flats in our closet!

The beauty with flats is the comfort isn’t compromised with style. Flats also come in so many ranges of style, design, technology, fabric and the price range.
The range of flats on: http://www.shopstyle.com.au/browse?fts=cushioned+ballet+flats. Limitless style and design with built in comfort!

Back to my original point, since I feel the need to emphasise the bonus of wearing flats, they are so comfortable! The few girls I see walking around in heels at uni, I think they are insane, and I feel for their feet! I assume the only logical reasoning behind this puzzling phenomenon is they are coming from work because I cannot understand how a person may wear heels walking around uni all day when they can just slip on a pair of flats and still look just as good! In addition to, there are many flats which provide cushioning of the inner sole to suit your step and provide all-day lasting comfort.

For us students, when it comes to shopping, the unfortunate reality is that we have to be price conscientious. Flats really range in price, the high-end up mark to the most glamorous flats may be a little out of our budget, but not to worry! There are some flats you can purchase for as little as $20, and as the favourite word to all of our student ears is “SALE!” – right now at Rubi shoes you can purchase flats for as little as $5 on sale. Yes, shoes for $5!!! Here’s the link http://cottonon.com/AU/shop-by-brand/rubi-shoes/flats/?region=AU – check it out!

There are so many different styles of flats! And flats will make any outfit look more feminine and appealing. Authentically, wearing sneakers with your floral dress isn’t exactly the best combination even though my advice is you do you girl, if you feel it, rock it. I must say, if you’re wearing a skirt or dress, a flat shoe would suit it perfectly! They also can dress up the simple jeans and tee or even leggings and sweater. Just to add another benefit if there wasn't enough, we’ve all been there and have missed our pedicure appointment with chipping toe nail polish on our feet, in those times, the solution is to avoid the sandal and cover those silly toes!

Sticking to my ideal colour of shoe; here is my most used and favourite pair of simple leather flats out of my closet!

Stay fashionable!

Racers fly over the Yeezys - Kevin

Hey guys!

Its Kevin and I am here to bring you back one of the classic pairs of shoes that were released in 2014 and look clean as! As a Nike fan I love all of the Flyknit Racers and I believe that they heavily outclassed the over hyped Yeezys. These pair of Oreo 2.0 Racers are a classic and with a colour way to express your love for the Oreo cookies what could be better?

This shoes look wonderful on feet and when feel amazing. The shoe comes with a whole flyknit upper cleaning it has maximum ventilation and the lightest feel. When wearing these I believe I can fly.

Nike will always be flying higher than Adidas ever will and Kanye should stick to music!

Wendy 3.0

SPOTTED: NIKE FREE 3.0 FLYKNITS

So, like I mentioned in my last twitter post, I was about to go off on an adventure - my mission was to find the Macq Uni gym... Well, it was a long walk alright. But nonetheless, I did manage to walk away with a bright red and blue gem! So... I was en route to the gym, but... I didn't realise how far it was, and how dark it was getting... Believe it or not, I attempted this mission at night, after all my classes. It was a bit scary, I mean, I am the size of a small bush, so you could imagine my anxious little body roaming around campus at 6pm.

Okay, so I chickened out and went back.

But on my way back to the carpark, I spotted some red and blue Nikes leaving W5C! I CHASED AFTER HIM, my little legs went into turbo mode and I ran after this person... Now that I think back, I probably looked more like a maniac than a devout shoe-lover. I asked, "are those the flyknits 3.0?", and he replied with "...yes", at this point, he probably thought I was out of my mind, but I'm glad I will probably never see him again... So after already embarrassing myself once, I did it for the second time, and I asked him if I could take a photo.

At this point, I didn't even know his name. But obviously I was there for the shoe, and not so much the wearer. I realised this guy had cut his laces off... So I asked him why he did it, and he replied with "yeah, 'cos the laces didn't make a difference, I had to tuck them in every time... So I might as well cut them off." Well... I had never heard of that before, but he did make a valid point, the material on these shoes are so lightweight and snug, the laces really wouldn't have made a difference. What an eyeopener! But kids, please don't go and cut all your laces off because these shoes are a different make compared to your standard runners. For one, they don't have a tongue, which is the flappy bit under your laces, he even said these shoes feel like socks! What he meant was, it wraps around the entire foot in one stretch of material - like a sock.

Overall, I would rate the wearability a strong 10/10, but aesthetics, maybe a 5/10. I do like the red, and I do like the blue, but together? It isn't my cup of tea.

PS. These ones I spotted were 3.0 - the most 'natural ride' available - as Nike has mentioned, there are also 4.0 and 5.0, depending on the level of cushioning you'd like.
PSS. His name was David.

Until next time

Nike roshe run #2

Look what i found while cleaning up my room today! I'm pretty sure I got these around a year ago but have never got the chance to wear them. They are the Nike Roshe run (again) but this time in grey. I remember buying these after I purchased the black ones because they were just so light weight and comfortable for any occasion. However, I chose this specific colour because grey also matches with any other colour. Although, I prefer the black ones more because it looks more simple whereas the grey one has little black dots on them. I still really like these ones just not as much as the first one that I purchased!

Like I said in my previous Roshe Run post, they are perfect for running, jogging and walking. I would recommend these shoes to everyone. The price is also reasonable given that it is good quality.

Until next time,
- Winnie

The Puma Fenty Trainer

Hey Bloggers,

On todays topic I am going to change it up a little from the battle of Nike and Adidas and introduce a pair of Puma kicks for our sneaker heads. There has also been lots of attention focused on the hottest thing right now; Kanye West's Yeezys but a more recent celebrity endorsed sneaker.

Rihanna X Fenty Puma Trainer!

As I am sure I dont need to remind you of who Rihanna is, only the best selling digital artist of all time and an eight-time Grammy Award winner, you must know! Apart from being the artist we know of is also a business woman involved in the fashion insustry. Rihanna is the key brand ambassador for Puma and a creative director with her line of Puma Fenty Collection.

After the first release of the "Creeper" from the line of Puma Fenty, which was an enormous success, the Rihanna and Puma partnership bring out the "Trainer" which has a much more evolved, futuristic look about it. The unique design is a lace-free slip on sneaker with a band to still have the foot stable in place and in position. By the addition of the over exaggerated long tounge allows the the sneaker to be so extraordinary and easily recognisable. Also advancing from the casual sneaker, the "Trainer's" name itself, is a dead giveaway the design's intent to withstand heavy training and activity. The elastic band which replaces laces provides the upmost support and comfort whilst looking slim and overall the trainer is an extreme fashion statement.

The Trainer is available in three colours:

All a solid colour of either black, white or red.

They sure are a luxury to item to add to a student budget online wishlist. However, appart from the crazy devoted Rihanna fans who will love anything released with her name in it, this shoe is so much more than another Rihanna release. The ideal design which combines comfort of a trainer that is yet stylish to be able to be worn as a casual shoe, this is a sneaker that sure is desireable athleisure! Just to mention the look of this shoe is unreal and probably nothing like you've seen before.

Myself, I must admit, i am both of the above. A massive RhiRhi fan and someone who loves a good sneaker. And as an owner of the Fenty Trainer, it is a shoe that I fell inlove with from the first unveil of the fancy black shoebox. Sticking to my true belief of black being the ultimate colour for a shoe, they can be mixed and matched with almost any outfit! I can assure you this is the most comfortable shoe yet and also the perfect match of shoe to my personality; standing out from the crowd!

- Anastasiya

Looks a bit "yEezy"

Whoa, whoa, whoa, check it out peeps, bringing it to you hot off the Macquarie University Fields, spotted today at the Macquarie University Intercollege football event are a very, very fresh pair of Yeezy's.

Pictured above are these bad boys being rocked out in a very, very classy black. You know these bad boys are fresh when they're costing you over $200USD on initial launch. But because of the high demand, these seriously fresh kicks will be costing you almost 4 DIGITS.

Now Yeezy's do fall into a special sort of category, yes they are sneakers, but are they more? Yes. These shoes can work with some semi-formal occasions, that's if you're not wearing a suit, but if you're keen on being the stand out in the crowd wearing these bad boys in a crowd full of leather shoes, these bad boys are for you!

So if you're keen to make a very impulsive purchase, than go right ahead, I know from Ryan's experience (the guy wearing the Yeezy's)  that he gets many compliments and stares!

Peace out MQ!

Performance Spotlight - Nike Kyrie 1

Nike is a globally recognized and a market leader in sports wear and equipment. Unlike its other competition, Nike is a prestigious company to be sponsored with. Under the Nike endorsement program are many iconic NBA superstars such as Lebron James, Kobe Bryant, Kevin Durant, Vince Carter and Kyrie Irving which help boost its popularity and demand. Nike's sponsorship deals provides the opportunity for superstars that are marketable enough for their very own signature shoe. As a result of its growing popularity, Nike's success labelled them as a market leader also in assurance in department of durability and performance.

The signature shoe for Kyrie Irving brings out the best of your game in the hardwood floor. Kyrie Irving is a professional basketball player for the Cleveland Cavaliers. Kyrie is a 3x time NBA All-Star, All-Star MVP (2014), NBA Rookie of the year (2012), and a gold medalist of the FIBA World Cup 2014. Kyrie has acquired many plausible accolades in his 4 years in the NBA and has also scored a sponsorship opportunity with Nike. Oh and a bonus fact - He is born and raised in Melbourne, Australia. Another Aussie in the NBA!

Kyrie 1 Front
Kyrie 1 front & Back
This shoe has been in my possession for about 2 years now. Within those two years, I have used these shoes in all of my basketball activity in various types of location whether it may be in the hardwood floor or in the concrete jungle. I definitely enjoy this shoe because it is very comfortable, it is aesthetically pleasing and it does the job right. The shoe is perfect for running, jumping and maneuvering on the court. The Kyrie 1 uses the new full length "bone traction pattern" which is very promising and performs extremely well. It enables the user to change their speed with ease and grip on the hardwood floor. The shoe is very aggressive and when dust are caught in the pattern, it can create loud squeak.

Bone traction pattern
The shoe is designed for all positions but mostly focused for players who play guard. The shoe has a forefoot zoom unit and phylon foam heel setup. This enables stability in a quick change of movement an and also supports your feet from breaking your ankles. The material and design of the shoe creates amazing court feel and responsiveness. It provides great bounce and impact protection for those vigorous jumping.

Forefront zoom
Just like Kyrie's game, the shoe mimics his explosiveness in the court. Check out his highlight during the Rookie Showcase in 2014.

I truly enjoy this shoe and I would definitely recommend it for you guards out there that need a shoe that is responsive, well cushioned and just simply flexible. If you want a deeper review of this shoe, check out kickgenius's performance review of the shoe.

There are many signature shoes out there in the market by various NBA stars in all positions. This shoe I believe caters to a target more for guards who runs and jumps compared to other positions. This has very responsive and aggressive traction to outmaneuver your defenders. It is amazing and by far my favorite basketball shoe.

Keep Ballin' my fellow sneakerheads,
Dean

'Pure' Class

How is it going everyone, so bringing you something a little different this time; so here we have the Adidas Ace 16+ PURECONTROL. I saw these beauties whilst training the other night. Now so far there are two variations of these boots, the blue ones seen below (which are the ones that I saw at training) and also the green variation.

Looking at these two variations, I personally find that the blue pair are much more appealing purely because the colour doesn't scream at you, plus the little hint of colour variation with the little grip loop adds that touch of detail which I find very appealing.

But onto the specs - the PURECONTROL's boasts being the first pair of boots ever to be lace less. I spoke to the guy and asked him whether these were worth the $400 price tag on them, and he said "yes, these are like no other, I can feel every surface of the ball, I can feel like I can strike the ball without feeling like my laces are getting in the way of the kick." Whether you feel like these shoes are worth the $400 price tag is up to your personal preference, me? I would almost buy it just on aesthetics.

Take it easy

New shoes?

Hey guys,

Its Winnie again.

I'm thinking of purchasing new shoes, the black and white adidas superstars (sorry nike) but this shoe is in trend at the moment as it is really nice and goes with anything! Even though I have a few pairs of unworn nikes which I bought a few months ago, I'm kind of getting over them and getting into these! Although, these are always out of stock in my size I will find them one day :)

These superstars are perfect for walking and going out to somewhere casual.

Maxin' it out

What is up shoes of MQ, it's Daniel here again, and look what I found sneaking around on campus:
Some sick Air Max's. Now from what you've probably noticed from my previous posts is that minimalistic is key. You don't need some flashy shoes to be noticed, I spotted these from far back near the central courtyard, and they even kindly took them off for me so I can snap a picture of them.

What I love about these is how they once again work with many outfits, and even my colleague Anastasiya said, "Black goes with everything". Plus they don't get dirty as easily.

Stay fresh, stay classy MQ!

Dean's Guide - Comfort is performance

Lesson 2 - Comfort is performance

Comfort is everything and above all, especially when training or walking. To have a healthy lifestyle, walking is easiest way to ensure you are in track with your body. Did you know that the suggested target for healthy adults is 10,000 steps per day? That is a lot of steps, and of course you need the perfect shoe to ensure your feet remain comfortable.

So what makes a training shoe comfortable? Well for starters, it should be comfortable immediately with no break-in period because nobody should wait for a shoe to loosen up when there is still work to be done. It should remain breathable and flexible to provide its maximum potential. The shoe should be the right fit and durable in quality for it to be enough to go the distance.

I would like to present my first and only training/casual shoe, the Addidas ZX Flux. This is honestly, the greatest training shoe I have ever bought and I really am starting to appreciate their wide variety. As an athlete myself, I truly enjoy the flexibility this shoe provides for me as I use it for many casual occasions also. I have used this shoe whilst playing basketball and going to the gym. The shoe provides soft insoles which enables the user to experience a full padded cushioned landing and groundbreaking launch. It also guarantees great traction whether it may be in concrete, hardwood or even dirt & grass.

Honestly, there are a variety of options that are designed & constructed to support your passion for physical fitness & recreation. Countless brands in the market such as Nike, Underarmour, Asics and many more have a variety of  high caliber, performance enhancement footwear that will satisfy your need. Just like my Addidas ZX Flux, there are a wide range of colour variations and different material combination such as leather trimming or the new addidas technology "Boost" that are designed to improve your performance and comfortability.

My final tip to you is to ensure comfort is a priority in your desired footwear. Just like the saying "If the shoe don't fit, don't wear it" (or something like that). Have a happy shoe hunting and I hope you all had a great Mother's Day! (in Australia)

Back at it again

What is up everyone, it's Daniel here am I'm back at it again with the fresh white..... Converses.
I spotted these hanging around Macquarie, and the person was even willing to let me snap a photo of them without them in the shoes.

Now, the thing I love about these Converses is that they go with so many different outfits. Their basic colour scheme means that whether you're rocking all black, or rocking some colours, these will always be there to suit your outfit.

Another great thing about these shoes are that they are unisex (of course you need to find your size) but all around campus, I always see people hitting it out of the park with these shoes.

Now I may be a bit biased, but I do also personally own a pair of these, but I use these for not only casual wear at times, but from time to time, you'll see me rocking these at the gym. Now I know what you're thinking, "why the gym" well if you ever come across a pair like these, you'll see that they're a flat bottom shoe with almost no cushioning, which is great for both squats and deadlifts, plus not only that you don't want super flashy shoes at the gym; but hey this isn't a fitness blog, so I'll get into that some other time.

I'd definitely recommend these shoes, I know from experience that these are super comfortable, work with so many OOTDs (outfit of the day), and from my point practical at the gym.

Peace out everyone
-Daniel

Winnie

Hey guys,

A little bit about myself: I am currently a first year studying at Macquarie Uni and I love shopping and shoes. Preferably Nike or Adidas shoes. What more is there to say?

Although, I only own a few pairs of those sneakers, my black and white Nike roshe runs are by far my favourite!  Why? Because they go with anything and everything. I also own a pair of grey and white ones but haven't worn them yet because black matches everything. You can never go wrong with black. They are also really comfortable to wear for walking or running.

I've had them for about two years now, and they are still in a good condition. I highly recommend these nike roshe runs to anyone looking for a good quality sneakers that is appropriate for most occasions, especially travelling to uni or walking around campus since the walk is quite long.

In terms of price, it was about $100 which isn't bad, given all the good things that I have mentioned about it!

Catch you guys later,
Winnie.

Anastasiya's take on what is the new black

Hey Bloggers!

I'm Anastasiya, in my second year of university studying a double degree of psychology and law. I know I'm stuck here at Macquarie Uni for quite some time yet, and one thing I know is to not over-complicate an outfit for uni. After all, it is only uni, right? Wrong. The world is your runway, and even though I wouldn't say dress to impress for your 9am tutorial, staying on-trend is always pleasant. Fortunately, there are many ways to have an "on-fleek" outfit, keeping it simple and not wasting any time picking out what to wear. Today, I’ll share one of my simple tips that can never go wrong;

WEAR BLACK. Not only does black go with EVERYTHING, but as most of us uni students would probably know, there is a high probability that the coffee you just bought may just get knocked right out of your hand and all over you by a late student running through the crowd. Wearing black is also a safer option.

Some words of wisdom from me to you:
Fashion is ever-changing and evolving in style. One term seen in the fashion industry a lot is "Blank is the New Black", basically meaning the blank new colour is the hottest trend at the time, whether it be green in spring or orange in autumn, one thing to think about is the origin of the saying and the meaning behind it. Black, has forever stayed "in" trend and is never out of style. Where as the "blank" is only trying to get on par with black. In the history of trend; fads like bright, pale, fluro, colourful and patterns all come and go with season stock, yet black never left and is here to stay forever. So lets face it, there is no new black, black will always be the new black.

Let me simplify all this for you, regardless of what is the new black at the time, always remember nothing can replace the original bold statement colour of black. Wearing black is the authentic option to always staying fresh and in style.

This is personally one of my all time favourite black items out of my shoe closet. Adidas Tubular.
The comfort of the shoe is absolutely remarkable, unique design and all round sensational shoe, best of all the black makes the sneaker look slick and slim and also practical, not only for spills and muddy weather but to mix and match with any outfit.

Dean's guide to staying fresh

Addidas Rayado
Lesson 1 - Keep your Tags

Psst... Are you the type of person who embodies the never-changing trend of fashion? Well, I have a question for you. Are you really styling right?

Let me first introduce myself, hi I'm Dean. If you look down below, at our introduction selfie, you will see me right next to an actor from a show... House of Cards I believe. It's a great show by the way. Now lets go back to the topic. I'm a student at Macquarie University and I am here to give you a not so great advice in how to improve your style or hopefully help create your own sense of identity.

You see, I am not very fashionable... till I unlocked the secret. The shoe being featured today is my very own fresh Addidas Rayado in Navy/Green/White. Its available for both men and women in many different sizes and colour variations. The shoe is designed for skateboarding and I would definitely not consider myself a skater because it just never worked out. Its a love and hate relationship. Regardless, do you remember when "Snapback Hats" became so popular?

Well, about 5 years ago, these hats became so popular around the world that many started to keep the tags  in these hat as it symbolised the social image of "freshness and autheticity". Its Ludicrous! These forced a new trend and created many viral videos such as Dueling Hats by the famous comedians Key and Peele.

My Addidas Rayado is very comfortable and it is trend safe. You know why this is trend safe? Well you can wear it with nearly anything casual, sports & semi-formal (with dark jeans and dress shirt) and pull it off really well. The shoe literally shouts out "Youth" to everyone. The shoe is designed for casual wear and also to cater the growing skating target market. This product is a direct competitor for the popular Nike SB footwear, in which look very similar. The shoe provides feet support for jumping, launching and landing through the thick rubber outer-sole and firm grip to further ensure your feet remain on the skateboard. The suede outer reduces the chances of creases and also assures flexibility on the move.

My tip for you my fellow sneaker heads is to choose a shoe that can cater more than one purpose. Casual shoes like these are more than interchangeable for many occasions and they unlock the impossible. Don't limit your style to one combination. Be free and experiment. Don't forget to keep the Tags!

Keep styling and stay fresh.

Dean

Wendy

Hey guys, I'm currently studying at Macquarie University, and what do I do in my free time? Window shop! Because I'm a student, and as a student, I am broke. But... sometimes I do give in, especially when the rounds of new sneakers come in for the season and I just can't help myself...

I have always been loyal to Nike... But my loyalty ran short when these started popping up everywhere! Adidas became the new Nike. For a brief summer period, of course. My favourite pair of Adidas shoes would be these - the ZX Flux... In white with the red stripe. But of course, the white only lasts at most, a few wears, and then it's dark grey before you know it - and well, it's just not a wise investment decision. So I settled for the second best thing, NAVY!

I love that it's so simple with the standard three stripes emblem on the side panel. But what really caught my eye was the Continental rubber soles. I thought, Continental... Isn't that a tyre company? Well, it is, and you'd be stumped at the amount of grip force this shoe has! So much so, that it squeaks on hardwood floors.

Until next time

Meet the Editors - Daniel

Hello everyone, I would like to personally thank all of you for reading our blog - so a little bit about myself, I'm in my second year at Macquarie Uni and I'm studying accounting. Now I'm not like your stereotypical accountant always wearing a suit, you'll often or not see me rocking my pair of Nike Roshe in Wolf Grey.

Now these are my favourite shoes by far, the colour of them though very basic, works with many outfits, and the little aspects of white draws people's attention to these shoes and think "elegant, but casual".

I would no doubt recommend these shoes to everyone, they are extremely comfy, provide a look of elegance while not distracting, and of course will last through physical activity.

Peace out
-Daniel
